I have been on plenty of interviews in my life and in my experience, the most common questions asked are:
1. Can you tell me about yourself?
2. Why should we hire you?
3 Why do you want this job?
Knowing how to answer these can make or break your interview process. What are some typical questions you have been asked during an interview?
One question that seems to be getting asked more these days is "How do you handle stress?". It seems there is a growing issue with people not being able to handle it very well in work environments so they feel inclined to ask.
"How much are you looking to earn?"
I think this is a common and fair question to ask. If a person is applying for a job that only pays 30k a year and they are expecting to eventually be earning 60k through this job, if there is not enough growth to acheieve this, they know the employee is less likely to be happy and more likely to quit after awhile.
One that I have heard a lot is “How committed are you to this company?”. I think this is their way of making sure they aren’t going to hire someone who will just quit in 3 months and leave them high and dry.
Are questions typically different for men as compared to women? I would imagine that women often get asked about pregnancy and plans on children for more demanding jobs.
I know it sounds silly but the most common question is “Hi, how are you?”. I think the entire energy of the interview is established with how you respond to this question as well.
