I am applying in the restaurant and food industry. I have several years experience working as a head chef as well as several degrees and worldly experiences. What would be the correct resume format to use for someone in my position?
Start with your contact information top and center. Include your name, home address, phone number and e-mail. Below this you'll want to type a quick sentence that describes your work ethic. Something that will get attention for the right reasons. Below that, outline your skills in a bullet point list. Make it more than 5 but less than 10. Touch on your education after this followed by your working experience. If you have any volunteer work within the food industry such as working in a soup kitchen, place that at the bottom of the list.
Have you considered just using an outline online? I don't think the food industry really requires anything too fancy but it couldn't hurt if you are applying for a high-end position at a 5-star place!
Considering you are applying based on skills, look for a functional style resume. You can find free templates online, create your own, or use online software that will allow you to create it online free or for a small fee.

You have the skills and experience, there is no reason why you should settle for a resume that is meant to serve as a one size fits all. There are plenty of examples online if you need to get some inspiration when making yours.
Focus on what you know. You want to highlight your experiences and your skills. For a job like this, it is crucial. Anyone can say they can cook or bake. You want to stand out from everyone else.
